Obituary for Hazel Womac (Wilson)
Hazel Lee Wilson Womac, departed this life on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at her residence.
She was born August 6, 1927 to Birch and Flossie Mae Gilbert Wilson in Bigfoot, TN. Her loves were church, family and gardening.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years J.L. Womac, her daughter Verna Jean Hill, her sisters Wanda Crowe and Ruth Grindstaff, her brothers Jarvis Wilson and Dewey Wilson.
Left to cherish the many memories includes her beloved children, Norma Mahaffey of Kingston, TN, Ella Mae Womac of Riceeville, TN, Martha (Gary) Lewis of Knoxville, TN, Jimmy (Kim) Womac of Riceville, TN, Phillip (Dee) Womac of Riceville; brother, Fred Gilbert of Lewisburg, NC. As well as her 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Friday, October 7, 2022 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Mike Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive Friday from 12:00-2:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
