Obituary for Neal L Stuart
Neal L. Stuart, 89, of Athens, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Tenova Healthcare of Cleveland.
He was a native of Chilhowie, Virginia and longtime resident of McMinn County. He was a son of the late Glen and Alice Heath Stuart. He was also preceded in death by his wife Sue Sauls Stuart, a brother Ray Stuart, and a sister Maryann Stuart.
He attended First Baptist Church of Athens, where he served as a Deacon. He was a graduate of Chilhowie High School and the University of Tennessee of Knoxville. He taught High School History in Knoxville, TN and worked at the Social Security Office in Cleveland and Athens for many years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Robert Parker; son, Jeff Stuart; granddaughters, Rebecca Parker Pathy and husband Sumit, Rachel Parker and Sarah Parker and a brother David Stuart.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
