Obituary for Brenda Baker (Kennedy)

Brenda Kennedy Baker, 79, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Starr Regional Health & Rehab in Etowah.
She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Warner "Chittle" and Dorothy Richesin Kennedy. She was also preceded in death by a son James Baker, Jr and a sister Kaye Martin.
She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was a graduate of McMinn County High School class of 1961, and had been associated with Proffitt's Dept. Store and was a substitute teacher for the Athens City schools.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jimmy Baker; daughters, Pamela(Jerald) Allison and Amy (Terrell) Moore; granddaughters, Misty (Neal)Cochran, Rachel Allison, and Zoe Moore; one grandson, Joseph (Jamie) Allison; and one sister, Sheila (Harry) Minge.
A funeral service will be conducted 7:00 pm, Monday, January 9, 2023 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Arwood officiating. The committal service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm, Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Terrell Moore, Jerald Allison, Kaleb Baker, Joseph Allison, Kameron Jones, and Cordell Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Oakley Allison and Maverick Allison.
