Obituary for Bettye Shell (Baxter)
Bettye Baxter Shell, 84, of Athens, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023 at her residence
She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late James David and Lockie Rowland Baxter. She was also preceded in death by her husband Gordon Shell, son, Joe Buck Shell and a daughter, Cindy Kelley.
A member of Wildwood Baptist Church. She was as General Manager at Tellico Culvert Company for 28 years until her retirement.
She is survived by grandson and his family, Grant and Amanda Kelley, Alice, Celia, and Betsy Kelley; son-in-law, Marvin Kelley; two sisters, Faye Toomey and Jimmie Webb; and one brother, David (Peggy) Baxter.
A graveside service will be conducted 10:30am, Wednesday, January 11th at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Wildwood Baptist Church, 1045 Hwy 39 East Englewood, TN 37329.
