Obituary for Carl Lewis Richeson

Carl Lewis Richeson, 78 of Athens, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his residence.
He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late James D. and Gracie Leona Carroll Richeson. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Richeson.
He was a member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church and retired from BWXT K25 in Oak Ridge as an electrical supervisor. He was an avid golfer, who loved Watts Bar lake and the UT Vols.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bettye Kaye Dodson Richeson; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Missy and Mitch Boyd and Carlissa and James McCullough; two granddaughters and spouses, Ashlee and Jesse Swanson and Carlee and Clint Dischner; three great-grandchildren, Aubree Grace and Clay Swanson and Everett Dischner; one brother, Jerry Richeson and Polly Shannon; niece, Jenna Harpenau; sister-in-law, Sylvia Dodson; and a special cousin, June Brown.
A funeral service will be conducted 7:00 pm, Monday, March 6, 2023 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Ensminger officiating. The committal service will be 11:00am, Tuesday, March 7th at McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 5:00-7:00 pm prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Doug Lovette, Todd Baines, Steve Parks, Steve Braden, Joe Smith, and Rusty Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Giles and Eddie Morris.
