Harry Leo Harrison, 92, of Athens, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at his home.
He was a native of Tellico Plains and longtime resident of McMinn County and was a son of the late Birch and Louise Rose Harrison. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ellen McNabb Harrison.
He was a member of East Athens Baptist Church. He was inducted into the World Karting Associating and was instrumental in writing the first technical rules. He owned and operated his own Small Engine repair shop for many years.
He is survived by his son, Jackie D. Harrison; special niece, Sheila Woods; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted, 2:00 pm, Friday, March 11, 2023 at East Athens Baptist Church with Rev. Bryon Trapper and Rev. Mike Dannel officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm, Friday, at the church prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Russell Mahery, Don Burgin, Gab Chrisman, Robbie Hayes, Jeff Roberts, Mike Woods, and Danny Pulley.
