Obituary for Albert J. "Bud" Rowe
Albert J. (Bud) Rowe, Jr. 87, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at his residence.
He was a native of Amonate, Virginia and longtime resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Albert James, Sr and Nora B. Pertee Rowe. He was also preceded in death by a sons David and James Rowe, brothers Charles and Johnny Rowe, and a sister Bonnie Rowe.
He served in the U.S. Army 35 years and during the Vietnam War, and was associated with C&P phone company as a contractor for 10 years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Connie Moore Rowe; daughter, Debbie (Merle) Pottes ; and sons Albert "Jimmy" (Patti) Rowe,III, Thomas Rowe,Jr, and Henry Rowe; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Nona Elston, Patricia Steele and one brother Tom Rowe.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Kemper officiating. Interment will follow in McMinn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be children and family.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
