Meredith Martin Gray, 68, of Hartselle, Alabama, died Friday, April 3, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born February 27, 1947, to Thomas "C.R." Martin and Jewel Mayo Martin. She was born and raised in Sweetwater, TN but spent most of her life in Birmingham, Alabama. She was employed by Attorney's Richard Jaffe and Derek Drennan, as a legal assistant for the past 22 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Jewel martin, step-mother, Versie Martin, Step-sister, Janice Jones, Nephews, Tommy Pritchett, and Greg Whitlock, and a niece, Teresa Thompson.

Survivors include One precious daughter, Melea Gray Guyse and her husband, Carlton of Hartselle, AL; granddaughter, Maggie Guyse; grandson, Jordan Guyse; one brother, Ray Whitlock of Athens,TN; three sisters, Melinda Pritchett, Marilyn Atchley and Sharon Young all of Athens; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Sandra Saxon, Billie, Diane, Pidge, Susie, Shannon, Betty Hicks and Betty Perry

A funeral service will be conducted, 3:00 pm, Tuesday, April 7, 2015, in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Dr. Tony Crisp officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Sweetwater, TN. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm, Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
