Today is March 17, 2016.  I woke up this morning thinking about my younger days in elementary school, and Mrs. Powell crossed my mind, and was thinking about her.  Strange thing is, I had no clue she had passed away.  My mom just informed me of her passing about one hour after.  I had Mrs. Powell as a teacher at Riceville Elementary School, about 20 years ago.  She became one of my favorite and impactful teachers.  She was a very thoughtful person.  Five years after I had her as a teacher, she heard about my Grandpa's passing, and found me to give me her condolence and a card.  

You will always be remembered, Mrs. Powell!  Thanks for all you did.
