Barbara Raper Slack, 84, of Englewood, died Thursday morning, March 9, 2017 at Starr Regional Medical Center.
She was a lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late Charlie and Wilsie Stiles Raper. She was also preceded in death by her husband S. Ray Slack.
She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Creed Lockmiller of Athens and Billie and Ricky Cowart of Englewood; two sons David and Michael Slack of Englewood; two granddaughters, Kenedee Slack and Cheryl Dunkle; four grandsons, Charlie Lockmiller, Dusty Cowart, Taylor and Tyler Slack; one great-granddaughters, Caddi Lockmiller; three great-grandsons, Wesley and Bradley Dunkle and Teagan Slack; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Sue Raper of Englewood; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Rachel Casteel of Athens and Becky and Jim Moore of Riceville; four sisters-in-law, Mary Lynn Slack, Ruth McElhaney, Nellie Sneed, and Betty Rowland all of Englewood; one brother-in-law, Carson Slack of Englewood; and several other loving family members.
A funeral service will be conducted, 7:00 pm, Friday, March 10, 2017 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Dunkle officiating. The committal service will be 10:00 am, Saturday in Wildwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Tony Casteel, Wesley Dunkle, Bradley Dunkle, Charlie Lockmiller, Dusty Cowart, Taylor Slack and Tyler Slack.
