Frances Sue Womac Wilson, 71, of Athens, died Monday, April 20, 2017 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County and was a daughter of the late George and Addie Thomas Womac. She was also preceded in death by a sister Mary Lou Womac Howard and a brother R.J. Womac.
Francis was of the Baptist faith. She was associated with Walmart retiring after 20 years.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Junior Lee Wilson of Athens; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Connie and Gary Martin, Tonya and Mark Hancock all of Athens and Leslie Jones of Niota; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Doug Wilson of Riceville and Dewayne and Janice Wilson of Athens; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mildred and Jake Thurman of Decatur, Annie Bell and Larry Swafford, and Rose Brown all of Athens; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew and Pam Womac of Calhoun and David and Sue Womac of Charleston; sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted, 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Lewis and Pastor Anthony Wynn officiating. Interment will follow in Clear Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm, Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be grandson.
