I had the great pleasure of knowing Dr Slowey. He came to Napa auto Parts what seemed l8ke several times a week.. It used to tickle me when he would show up with his Mercedes suv open the back hatch and drag out some greasy nasty Farm stuff. Hoses old tractor parts etc. you must understand that the reason Im telling this is to help everyone of the Dr Slowey I knew. He was a simple man I guess is where Im going with this. He used a high dollar suv as his farm truck. He wore bibbed overalls and sported plenty of facial hair and was always ready with a good story or two from years ago. As far as Doctor goes...he sure didnt play the part. He never looked down his nose and he always was ready for a good conversation. Ive long since left Napa, but as I left the door of Napa for the last time I couldnt help but think to myself would I ever get to Exchange stories and delightful conversation with him again. As fate would have it, I was not so fortunate.. Athens lost not only a darn fine Doctor but a true friend and great citizen... My Dear friend Doc Youll be truly missed by all who ever knew you. Rest In Peace James... And save me a good seat near you...
