Wilma was involved in Girl Scouts as well as a Brownie Leader when her daughter was young as well as various school activities. During the last 38 years in Pontiac, MI, Wilma was actively involved with the Mission Program at Marimont Baptist Church. She served for seventeen years leading the Mission Committee and coordinated and brought together the volunteers and the other committees to produce a successful eight day program that ran from 9:00am until 8:00pm. While serving in that capacity the method of Faith Promise giving was begun as a way of supporting missionaries around the world.
They moved to Clarksville, IL where they resided for 10 years and Wilma and her husband Jack were members of Clarksville Baptist Church. The next move brought them to Athens, TN. She attended East Athens Baptist Church. She then became a Charter Member of Genesis Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Fay J. (Jack) Douglas. She met him when she was 16 years old and knew he was "THE ONE", but it took him four years to "discover" her"! Also preceding her in death were her parents, Meryl E. Ferguson Green and John A. Green, three brothers, Robert G. Green, Donald A. Green and Marshall E. Green.
